Christian is a Traitor!

Hello AWP Friends!

cl1Ben again, here to call out Christian Laforet C.M. Forest for his malevolent treachery. I’m sure you’ve heard by now that C.M. Forest has two new books out on the market. One, a novella, We All Fall Before the Harvest, released by Timber Ghost Press. The other, his first released novel, Infested, courtesy of Eerie River Publishing. Continue reading

Snow from a Distant Sky is now Available

20220414_161444_hdrThe time to get your copy of Snow from a Distant Sky is now!

The fifth and final* book in The Synthetic Albatross Novella Series answers your burning questions and offers up a few more.

Copies are available to order from your preferred book seller and you can leave reviews on your favourite book reviewing site.

I have a small run on the way for local sales. They will be available at Biblioasis and I may bring a few around to your houses if you’re that keen. Let me know!

*(Final for now. I hope to get back to the series in the future).

Break/Interrupt is Out Now!

20210413_135425It’s been a hectic couple of months, but the latest novella in the Synthetic Albatross series has been officially released.

By the way, this is Ben (in case you hadn’t noticed).
I’ve coopted the blog here on AWP for the last few months to promote and share Break/Interrupt, and it’s finally here. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks making deliveries around the Windsor area. I’ve also dropped some copies off at Biblioasis.

20210413_135530If you would like one for yourself (and you do, it looks amazing in person) let me know. I still have some deliveries to make as more requests tickle in and the book is available to order online or from your favourite local book store.

I have a ton of people to thank for this one (as always) and I don’t want to repeat the acknowledgements from the back of the book, but a lot of credit goes to Glen Hawkes for designing and drawing the cover. Also, the book wouldn’t exist without the help of the other fine people her at AWP, so a big thanks goes to them. And I suppose I should thank all of you for reading it!

I think that’s all for now. I’d love to answer some questions if anyone has any, though, so feel free to ask in the comments!

What’s Next from AWP?

September / October 2020

120108498_4451387658266981_1926075961421334201_oHello all. Ben here. After pushing Christian into doing monthly posts, I find that I failed to get one done for September. I had this post planned, but the proof is in the pudding and there wasn’t any (pudding or proof). I may do another post later in the month to make up for it, but I want to make sure there is something to say and I’m not pulling what I do on my other page and forcing a post when there is really no news. I believe in the advertising philosophy that an ad owes you either information or entertainment in payment for your time. And what are these posts, really, other than advertisements for us? AWP Book Launch 2020!

BannerDue to the world being on fire, we have missed three significant events here at AWP. Namely, the launch of Ben Van Dongen’s newest novella (in the Synthetic Albatross series), Broadcast Wasteland. The launch of Brittni Brinn’s new novel, The Place That Used To Be. And the re-release of Christian Laforet’s short story collection, The Space Between Houses.

We had intended to host a big hoopla in the fall to celebrate all three books, but due to the obvious issues, that seems unlikely to happen. Not to be deterred though, we have made the decision to bring the launch of these new releases to your digital doorstep.

This Friday, Aug 21st, all three authors will be dropping readings, behind the scenes and more on the AWP Facebook page, as well as across their own social media. It all kicks off at 10am.

This is a new, and exciting event for us, and we hope you’ll join us in the celebration.

The Newest Books from AWP!

2020 Releases 1

We here at Adventure Worlds Press have managed to have three new releases come out during the pandemic with everyone in quarantine most stores closed for much of that time. I suppose for two of them, we saw the writing on the wall and could have held back the releases, but one of them is mine (it’s Ben writing this if you couldn’t tell from reading any of my other posts) and I have a thing for schedules and rules even when they are arbitrary. My novellas come out in April because that’s when the first one came out so they all have to come out then. Therefore Broadcast Wasteland was released in April. Continue reading

September Boss Rush!

maxresdefaultIt’s September (even if August was cooler than the heatwave we’re dealing with now). The summer slump is over. Christian and Ben are in the middle of a write-every-day, finish-every-project dash in an attempt to catch up for their slow (though better than average) summer. Christian has the excuse of his children being out of school, but the slacker Ben spent the entire season trying to figure out why he fails so spectacularly. (You can follow his journey on his weekly blog, you know, if you like. You may as well follow Christian too). Continue reading

Just a Little Update

20190215_182705I’m not sure how to start this post. I’m so used to having some concrete things to say on my weekly blogs over on my personal site, but it has been nearly a year since I’ve posted here. I suppose I just want to let any visitors know that Christian and I are still kicking, doing stuff on our own websites, doing lots of stuff in out in the world. We’ve managed to keep the events page on this website updated, so continue to check out what we’re up to there. We’d love to see you at one of our readings, or at some random convention we attend. If you tell me you know us from the Adventure Worlds website, I’ll see if I can’t give you a discount. Continue reading
